Sayonara, Syesha!
It’s David versus David after all. The only goliaths in next week’s battle are David Archuleta and David Cook.
Singing siren Syesha Mercado was booted out, but she was at peace with the decision (like she had a choice anyway). She said one of the goals she had at the very beginning was to make it to the top three. So she made it. Then buh-bye. The Davids will duel next week.
The teenager, the rocker, and the beauty all got the customary red carpet treatment in their respective home towns. They could not believe the droves of people who supports them. They all cried for joy. Aaahh!
Prior to the announcement of the final two, Fantasia Barrino performed her latest single “Bore Me”. It was… OMG!… a cross between a bad James Brown and Tina Turner performance, super-high energy choreography, with a lot of shouting. I don’t know if you can call that singing. When the camera panned to Simon, he looked very perplexed! The jaw wanted to drop but couldn’t. Either he just saw a ghost or witnessed a ghastly performance. I’ll side with him on the latter. What a freakshow!
David Archuleta was safe right off the bat. As much as Ryan Seacreast tried to make it suspenseful, we already knew Syesha was gonna be eliminated. It was just basically making the announcement official.
Any predictions who will be crowned as the next American Idol?
Simon is nuts. Syesha was on fire. Possibly the most ready for prime time out of all three. Does Simon need another Dreamgirls Oscar rubbed in his face?
